What is MGEP?
Medical Grade Ear Piercing (MGEP) is approached from a medical perspective and designed to address health risks associated with piercing: bloodborne infections, cross-contamination, and nickel allergies. A system made only available to trained, licensed physicians and nurses, the piercing is completed using a patented piercing system internationally recognized for meeting quality standards in medical devices and safety. To ensure your piercings are hygienic, safe, and properly placed, the piercing device uses prepackaged sterile, single-use, and disposable cassettes that house the piercing studs inside. This ensures the only piece that comes into contact with your skin is disposed of. A perfect option for delicate ears of all ages, with the same system trusted by many pediatricians.

Skin sensitivities are quite common, particularly in children. Therefore, I prioritize using only skin-friendly materials that not only look good but also feel good. Nickel is a common cause of allergic contact dermatitis (a skin rash or irritation caused by allergens). The solution to preventing earring-induced nickel allergies is to use high quality skin friendly materials. The piercing jewelry used is sterilized following ISO Health standards and comprises either 100% medical-grade plastic or implant-grade titanium. A various selection of the two materials will be available at your appointment to meet your aesthetic flavor without compromising your safety. Unlike ordinary earrings, these hypoallergenic piercing studs have longer, slightly thicker posts to help promote healing, make for easy aftercare and easy changing once healed. The nickel content and/or nickel release is 0%, eliminating the cause of nickel allergy.
